everything else: new leaves

dear internet,

i'm looking at the seven tiny shoots in the tiny plant pot my flatmate got for advent, which i watered over christmas break, when they were still seeds waiting to emerge. i'm listening to a white noise app play me the sound of a photocopy machine, and, layered over that, miles davis play the soundtrack to a movie i have not watched. the german sentence i have learnt this week is ich hätte heute mehr tun sollen, "i should have done more today." i haven't read a book all year. in a month all the links in all my emails to you will have died, but outside there will probably be daffodils.
