everything else: an incomplete list

dear internet,

this week, everyone knows what everyone's been thinking about. so instead, a list of things that have helped me think about something else:
  • scrabble go. also words with friends, which has a slightly different board that might irk regular scrabble players. i'm playing with my grandmother, who lives alone. our first game, for our very first move, i played a 12-point word and she played a 66-point word, so it's going well!
  • friends reruns. i've started from season 1 and have some brand-new opinions. ross is hilarious! janice is great! monica and richard should have stayed together! i love susan!
  • every derry girls episode can be rewatched one million times.
  • the crossword, which in the absence of a printer i transcribe. they've stopped delivering the newspaper to my parents, so my father takes a screenshot of the e-paper and prints it out.
  • draw something.
  • 2 cars, a concentration game i was introduced to last december.
  • agatha christie audiobooks, specifically the bbc full-cast dramatisations. if you have access to a public library's ebook system (overdrive / libby), i find that audiobooks of stories you're familiar with are very soothing!
  • cooking: i roasted potatoes, remembered i hate potatoes, and fried them on a pan until they crisped and tasted only of salt; i've been cooking rice in chicken stock for a simple meal that tastes; i've eaten all the snacks in the house and frozen two loaves of bread.
  • crosby, stills and nash.
  • family karma, a reality show on bravo about indian americans. it is terrible and, therefore, perfect.

that's all for this week, folks!

love,
t
