dear internet,

in the summer i was in the car with my parents, front seat, feet up on the dashboard while american teenager played and my dad drank a roadside cup of tea. now it's november and the other day it snowed and we stood on the sofa in the living room all in a row, no lights on, looking at the season's first flurries melting onto the bike racks below. probably everyone is feeling a little bit off-kilter right now, as if time is both sped up and not moving at all. every week i think of writing to you about something small and then i get home and forget what i wanted to say. i've been listening to the new weyes blood and the new first aid kit and the impeccable first track off the new carly rae jepsen. in thirty-seven days it will be a new year.
