Coming up: a livestream about The Penguin Book of Interviews

This book came out thirty years ago, but the drawing above was made last night (by me, on my iPad).

One of the most remarkable things in the book is the assertion that the interview itself - a format in which one person meets another, makes notes and writes up a record of the conversation afterwards - is a recent phenomenon.

Many people, at first, were outraged by presumption of it.

My sketch isn’t exactly photographic. But despite the wonkiness, can you guess who these famous interviewees are? Ten points to the first entirely correct answer.
