Hope and glory

Elgar revisited...

As the 2021 BBC Proms enters its last week, and inevitably the hallowed Last Night, I ask only this: What if once-in-a-while, they played ‘Land of Hope and Glory’ a little differently? Say, à la Boyz II Men?

Edward Elgar is probably spinning in his grave right now, but he’s been out of action over 70 years now, so at least he can’t sue…
