Launch Week - Day One
I'm a little scared and excited. Something new is coming on August 1st! This is the first of five posts I'll share this week leading up to Friday's launch
—
Thirteen years ago, I was paddle boarding with dolphins in Destin, Florida. I could not stop smiling. It was incredible. I wrote about that experience in “Savor It.” That smile persisted when I resigned from my job the next week and Duce Enterprises became my full-time job.
I'd had a successful summer of contract work helping a Canadian company's Houston branch improve its payroll process. That project included many long nights after my day job interviewing and capturing a retiring employee's manual process.
I uncovered opportunities to reduce errors and overpayments, saving the organization tens of thousands of dollars and giving me the confidence to make a go of it on my own.
Thank you to Jeff Miller for trusting me with that project, as well as all the folks who supported me in launching my first business.
Tomorrow: How giving back became the part of my career I'm most proud of.
