Launch Week Day 2: Giving Back

Yesterday I shared that I’m starting something new on August 1st. It very much aligns with my values and desire to give back and help people.
Since launching my first business over a decade ago, I've been fortunate to work on accessible web and learning technology solutions while working with some incredible people.
My final role at Learning Ninjas, Director of Philanthropy, remains the one I’m most proud of. I managed our give-back program, partnered with nonprofits and public health initiatives, and found ways to provide pro bono services, funding, and advocacy. The most fulfilling work came from collaborating with friends to create meaningful impact.
These projects taught me about environmental justice, human rights, and health inequities. I began to see how our business decisions, technology selection, and communication approaches can either create barriers or remove them.
Clear communication. Inclusive design. Ethical technology. When we lead with dignity and compassion for all beings, we create conditions where everything and everyone can thrive.
Thank you to Sarah Mercier, Sean Putman, Teresa Dussault, David Lindenberg, and all who supported our give-back work. Deep thanks to our nonprofit partners and advocates, Michelle, Andrew, Gus, and so many others, who continue to show up for the people and places they serve.
Tomorrow, I’ll share a story I’ve never told before that became a catalyst for what came next.
