In this edition of The Energy Advice Bulletin, we are delighted to let you know about two new services for Greenwich and Lewisham homeowners to make their homes more energy efficient and assess for available funding:
- Love Lofts: For those who want to insulate their lofts, but need support to make it happen
- Future Fit Homes: For those who are interested in big home upgrades, either self- or grant-funded
Details of both services and how to get in touch with each team are below for your information, along with links to how to refer to our Energy Advice team.
Warmest wishes, Flavia, on behalf of the Selce Energy Advice, Future Fit Homes & Love Lofts Teams
Want to insulate your loft, but need a helping hand to make it happen?
Insulating lofts is one of the most effective (25% of heat is lost through the roof), quickest (a day or two) and cheapest (£900 – £1200) ways to cut heat loss and bills, while making your home better for you and the planet. South East London Community Energy is helping homeowners in Greenwich and Lewisham clear out the clutter and insulate their lofts to improve health, wealth and planet by:
- Providing a free loft insulation inspection carried out by a qualified Retrofit Assessor
- A free handy-person to help remove and replace light- and medium-weight goods from the loft
- Checking if the household qualifies for loft insulation grants
- Contributing £200 pounds toward the cost of insulation

- a home assessment from one of our expert team, checking where your home is losing heat and what measures could help
- identifying local contractors who could complete the work
- acting as a single point of contact with contractors and the local authority
This service is completely free to homeowners eligible for ECO funding and at low-cost for those able to pay.
