There are free things that you can do around your house to reduce the amount of energy that you pay for, but don’t use. For example, for an average household (2.4 people):
- Filling your kettle with only as much water as you need can save £11 per year. Using a hotwater flask through-out the day can save you more!
- Taking a 4-minute shower daily can save up to £78 per year. Or, replacing just one bath per week with a 4-minute shower can save £16 annually.
- Turning appliances off at the wall and avoiding stand-by mode can save £54 per year.
There are lots of other things you can easily do to deal with the sneaky little energy vampires that quietly suck pennies and pounds out of your bank account and ruin the atmosphere.
