4 Day Summer Retreat This July
Now it's chucking it down with rain I thought it would be a good time to draw your attention to a retreat I'm planning for the summer.
This will be a 72 hour weekend retreat over 4 days and will include things like swimming in the river, some hiking, learning to live in the outside for a few days and deepen your appreciation and connection to the natural world and very likely to your own mind and self too.
The big idea for this retreat is that it speaks mainly to non-conscious part, the unconscious mind, which understands the simplicity of the natural world because it evolved there. The language of that part of mind is imagery, sensory and connective - so we'll focus on slowing down to the point where we're opening up to what's right in front of us, seeing that our conscious mind will always want to move on to newer and 'better' things, so we'll give it the challenge of being in one place, to sit and be with its own chatter and need to move on.
The crux of this weekend will be a long solo or sit spot of 24 hours - time to sit in the challenge of 'the moment' but with plenty of stimulus to bring some sense of connection between conscious and unconscious. The results are always fascinating and enlightening. Because when we put ourselves in that position, we're doing something to, in some way, tame the conscious mind, the part of us that 'knows', is 'right', often makes us feel bad and reckons it has stuff worked out.
Experience mind in a different way, take yourself out of regularity and into something different. The space will be held in a gentle, supportive and fun way, so you can get the most our of it without taking it too seriously.

Ends 9th July at midday
Location: beautiful woodland above Hebden Bridge
