how the wind blows
We have to move with it, with the things that ask us to move. Some things in our lives tell us to move and some things move us, without warning or what we might call manners. "How rude! Life is making me do this! How selfish of life?! What's it up to now?"
So I'm keeping moving the goalposts. The retreat I had planned, I want to just be honest about, since it's just us. I haven't had much response and my marketing plan for this year is to not do any more marketing after this email. However, I want to do stuff that people want to do with me. I love giving people nature connecting experiences - there's something so mysterious and magical about where people go with this stuff that I'm compelled to be a 'nature-trip facilitator' or whatever you might want to call it. I know I can hold space for people to explore altered states and experiences in the natural world - that much I'm sure about.
I left social media about a year ago and so I want to hone what I'm offering to the people around me. That makes sense to me and I hope it does to you.
So, if you like the idea of working with me, let me know what sort of nature (or other) experience you're after, in terms of length of time and frequency, even. I also want to make things affordable. If I'm offering a retreat or a workshop, etc, I want to feel like I'm getting paid something for it, so I can also afford good food to feed people and give some money and appreciation to the people who own the land I'm lucky enough to be able to use.
I will do one retreat this year and I know it won't make me rich. I'll do it because it's one of my favourite things to do. I put it out there as a 4 day thing but it could be shorter. I'm not going to keep sending emails pushing stuff because I'm just not interested in doing that, for me or for you.
So this is it! If you want to be involved in something with me this year, on the first couple of weekends of July (I can't do after that because it's school holidays) then let me know. I know it will be fun and deep and bonding and you will go away with something approaching medium to long term satisfaction.
Tell me what you want, what you're up for. If you can't do this thing what might you be able to do?
I want to make it work and I'm no longer interested in poking you with the marketing stick. I'll be using this newsletter to share thoughts, concepts, ideas and to invite conversation.
Peace out
