Friday, July 3 - Colt Ford in concert at Roadhouse at the Mill (520 W Main St). Doors 5:30 PM. Ticketed.

Saturday, July 4 - 8:00 AM — Red, White & Run: 5K and 1-Miler at Gem Island Sports Complex. - 11:00 AM — America 250 Gem County Parade on Washington and Main Streets. Free. - 12:00 PM — Family Festival at The Mill. Vendors, food trucks, go-karts, family activities. Runs all afternoon. - 5:30 PM — Rodney Atkins in concert at Roadhouse at the Mill. Ticketed. - 10:20 PM — Fireworks show at Gem Island Sports Complex. Free.

The Rodney Atkins and Colt Ford shows are part of the Roadhouse at the Mill's America 250 "Staycation" — one of the biggest fireworks and live music events the venue has hosted. Chamber of Commerce says the parade route will bring road closures on parts of Washington and Main. Plan errands accordingly.

Schools

District Working Through Budget After Levy Fail

The Emmett School District held its annual budget hearing on Monday, June 15. Recordings are posted to the district's YouTube channel for anyone who couldn't attend in person. The board is working through the first budget without supplemental levy funding since the May failure, and we'll continue tracking any specific personnel or program decisions as they're made public.

City & County

Merrill's Pit: Still No Public Ruling

More than a month after the May 26 deliberation, no formal decision has been posted publicly for the proposed Merrill's Pit gravel project. We'll cover the ruling as soon as it's released.

City Council Meetings

The City posted the June 23 council meeting agenda and packet along with the June 9 minutes. The next regular council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14 at 5:30 PM at City Hall.
