Well, it lasted a long time
After three cross-country tours and many smaller ones, multiple trips up and down both coasts, visits to Canada, adventures through harrowing weather and steep terrain, and uncountable audiobooks, my 2009 silver Prius has finally given up the ghost. A moment of silence, please, for the car that took me all over this land of ours and probably brought me to your hometown to meet you.
Or, to put it in completely different meme terms:

Yes, my new car is also a Prius. But this one runs! It also doesn’t make a deeply concerning rattling noise every time I turn it on.
Places I will now be able to go without fearing for my life:
7/24-25: The Boardwalk Sessions in Asbury Park, New Jersey, hosted by Loudly Inclusive (attending, not performing - come hang out with me and see amazing music!)
9/3-7: Dragon Con in Atlanta, Georgia (performing! and trying to meet Tom Welling)
Sometime soon: Los Angeles to record songs for the new album (okay, I will be flying for this one, but if I WANTED to drive, I could!)(P.S. I am REALLY EXCITED about this!!!)
Anyway, the rivers run to the sea and the seedling blooms before it withers and old Priuses need to be traded in for new Priuses. Thank you for witnessing this new phase in my life called “she has a functional car.” I hope you get to see it in person soon on a tour stop near you!
Love and hybrid vehicles,
