TLDR: Camera detection, Device metrics on dashboard, Real-time view of system health, New packages.

Welcome to our engineering newsletter! We’re excited to share a behind-the-scenes look at what our team has been working on to make your experience even better. From product updates to performance improvements, this is where we keep you in the loop on all the latest innovations and insights.

🐛🛠️ : Camera Detection

Camera detection has been solved with the latest version of the ember-api. Follow the regular installation steps and be sure to run:

sudo ember detect-cameras -i --save

🔥New Feature: Device Metrics on the Dashboard

Device metrics over time

User can now track their device’s metrics on the dashboard. These metrics include CPU utilization, memory usage, and cpu temperature. You can also zoom in on particular time periods for more detailed results.

🔥New Feature: On-Device Metrics Dashboard

Real-time device metrics

We’ve added a real-time dashboard to the agent so you can monitor system performance and diagnostics as they happen. There are a few different views but two to take a look at would be the Overview and Camera State.

Try running (on latest build):

sudo ember dashboard

🔥ARM & x86 Packages Now on the Dashboard

We’ve added both ARM and x86 packages to the dashboard—no more manual setup. Test out the newest builds and let us know what you think!
Make sure to use the new install.sh!

🔥Additional improvements:

  • new look and faster load times on the fleet overview page

  • updated documentation

  • new ember cli commands
