Hello dear ones,
I'm sending this to you from an awesome little cafe in the town near our family's house in Maine - the only spot I can get access to WiFi and cell service. There's snow everywhere and there's plenty of space and time for fires in the wood burning stove, card & board games, long-lasting dinners, naps, snow play, and hot chocolates. The bright sun is surprisingly warm despite the cool 8 degree temperatures we woke to this morning.
There's also a head cold that won't go away, a baby who has decided that sleep is over-rated (while his mama has decided that it's the ONLY important thing in life right now!), and the constant meal-planning and cooking and tidying and navigating kiddo arguments.
All of this is to say is that being IN life is being with ALL of it. The sweet parts, the fun parts, the sad parts, the exhausting parts, the big and small parts. If we are making a conscious choice to wake up to LIFE as it is, we don't get to pick and choose which parts we want to be awake to. But when we allow for it all rather than resist it, when we consciously invite it all in rather than attempt to push it out, when we let it be rather than try to make it what we want, there's a softening that occurs, an opening that allows us, through awareness, to recognize that this fullness of life, this breath, this body we get to experience it all with, is the greatest gift we've been given.
Just a couple of days away from 2019, I'm wishing you all a bit of time and space to reflect on all that you experienced in 2018 and to get clear on NOT on how you need to change yourself in some way in 2019, but, rather on what you wish to experience within yourself in 2019. And, as you move into this new year, remember that we are not ever changing life itself, we are changing our relationship to it.
, always.
Ellie

We all reach a point where we ask the question “is this as good as it gets?” Or “why doesn’t this life feel as good as it looks on paper?”
And, in my humble-life-coach-opinion, it’s one of the MOST exciting questions you could possibly be asking. Not because of how it feels NOW but because of how it WILL feel when you start to get curious about what it is you really want, how you want to be spending your time and energy, with whom you want to share this life....
Join me in this brand new, interactive, action-oriented virtual coaching program that kicks off in February 2019!
******************************************************************************************
Over the course of our 8 weeks together as a group, you will get clear on who you’ve become and how that may differ from who you thought you’d be or how you thought you’d feel in your life. You will become confident, once again, in who you are and how to follow the path you’re meant to follow. You will solidify a clear vision for yourself and learn how to create tangible steps to get you there over time. And you will also begin to take immediate action in your life that will dramatically shift how you feel.

True, meaningful self-care is a dialogue between you and your nervous system.

When we are taking care of ourselves, we feel an overall sense of greater wellbeing. When we feel well, we are able to meet life (and all it's various demands) more fully.
Join me for a weekend urban retreat here in RVA that will explore what meaningful and authentic self-care really looks like and feels like and how all of this relates to our nervous system. Leave with an understanding of what you "feed" yourself, how that ultimately feeds your nervous system, and how your nervous system "feels" creates the foundation for how we react to the world around us.
The retreat will be part lecture, part discussion, and part experiential learning as we explore guided visualization, meditation, and pranayama.
