The Hive Dive Prep for Session #2

Hello everyone! I'm excited to see you all this Sunday for session #2! We will start right at 4pm, so feel free to arrive a few minutes beforehand to get set up. Along with your assignments for the month (which are still listed below in case you need a refresher), I posted a couple of things in the Facebook group for you to consider for Sunday:

  1. Jot down a few words or sentences about what you'd like to receive from a yoga practice...

- Do you want something that will feel energizing? Grounding? Balancing?Β 

- Do you need something that will address discomfort in your lower back? Hips?Β 

- Do you want to practice daily? Or a longer practice that you'll do 1-2 times per week?

  1. Think about what your intention is for your participation in this group over the next several months (this can connect to your greater wish as to what you hope to gain from participation and/or the reason you decided to sign up for it)

If you haven't been in the group, jump over there to check out the Facebook Live sessions if you have time.Β

Assignments from Session #1

  • READ Bringing Yoga to Life, chapters 1-7
--> Take note of her descriptions of Yama & Niyama & The Four Bramavihara
--> Select 1-2 passages that either create confusion or provide you with an "ah ha" moment of clarity

  • JOURNAL about times when you've experienced "Yoga" (remembering that the word Yoga means "to yoke" or to bring together the individual self and the greater Self or, really, to remember that they were never separate (these are moments of deep peace, great clarity, ease of being, "perfectness," wholeness, etc...); also write your own description of the state of yoga (if you can describe it)

  • PRACTICES:Β 

--> daily meditation (no more than 5-10 min/day); use anchors of breath, sensation and sound
--> daily movement (10-20 minutes of any kind of intentional movement that feels good to you)
