Hello - I'm happy to be here with you.
Not sure how things have been for you, but the last couple of months have been a blur for me... It was just September and here we are, just a day away from December.
The blur, the flurry of days, the leaps in time, the haziness... all of that can create an intense feeling of not being grounded, not being present - the essence of being nowhere.
And I was thinking, the other day, about the word nowhere - and about the fact that so many people I work with are feeling this underlying sense of being nowhere --
>> not in touch with a sense of purpose;
>> not feeling clear about direction;
>> having difficulty getting in touch with who they are & what they need;
>> not knowing how to get from here to there
-- and it occurred to me that path forward from nowhere literally starts here and now. Nowhere can be no-where OR it can become now-here.
Life has its way of presenting us with experiences, situations, and conditions that can send us into spirals created by the mind: planning, anticipating, over-analyzing, ruminating.
And, since we often don't know the practical "how to" for not attaching to that material, we journey, with the mind, further and further away from this moment now. We depart the now here and move toward no-where.
What the mind is seeking can only be found here and now.
What decisions need to be made can only be made here and now.
Who you are and what you need can only be sensed here and now.
The steps that need to be taken can only be found here and now.
As a holistic coach and teacher, my work continues to center the tangible and practical ways in which we can quite literally locate ourselves now here -- to become more trusting of not just the moment but of ourselves in this moment so that we can more accurately sense what is needed within ourselves and within the world.
Here's a little "how to" so that you can practice moving from no where to now here:
In a moment of confusion, rumination, decision paralysis:
-- notice the mental spiraling and pause
-- choose to bring your attention down from the head and directly to the support beneath you (the floor under your feet, the chair under your seat)
-- sense the support that is lifting to meet you and rest into it
-- bring your attention to what I refer to as the peripheral body - the bones and outer edges of the container of your body and hold your attention there
-- also include noticing your breath -- without changing it
-- also include noticing sounds -- without labeling them
-- stay here, present in your form, present in this very moment
Remember that you are simply practicing arriving in the moment, here and now, and that it is the repetition of practicing this that allows us to more fluidly move from nowhere to now here in an ongoing way. See what happens and let me know how it goes.

NEW OFFERING:
The Coaching Collective
The Coaching Collective is an ongoing, twice-monthly group coaching space within which you will receive guidance and coaching from me and accountability and support from the presence of others in the group. This group is meant to provide additional support for individuals who are current or past coaching clients, participants in the Meditation & Coaching Groups, or for those who have participated in either of my Year of Intention programs.
Membership to The Coaching Collective will give you access to twice-monthly "open" format group coaching calls. The membership amount is sliding-scale and determined by you -- please select an amount that feels like a meaningful contribution that will encourage you to show up consistently and fully.
Calls will take place on Zoom on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from 12-1pm starting in February 2023.

SILENT HALF DAY MEDITATION RETREAT:
February 4th 2023
These retreats will include four 30-minute meditations with short breaks between each. There will be time at the end for guidance on individual experiences.
There will not be a half-day sit in December; instead we will join in February in my new office space (yay!). More details will be sent out in January, but if you'd like to hold a spot, please register below.

It's true! I've set the dates for my 2023 Annual Retreat!
November 16-19, 2023, we will be returning to the beautiful Heartstone Lodge, nestled between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Maury River in Buena Vista, Virginia. This was the spot for my first few retreats and it truly feels like a homecoming. I hope it will feel that way for you as well.
I'm also beyond thrilled that the magical human Shell will be joining us once again to provide nourishment (in the form of food and drink). I know you will not only delight in what she prepares for us but, in general, the sincerely beautiful presence she brings.
