PRACTICES TO SUPPORT YOUR LIFE
View this email in your browser

What do you need in order to:

Lead from and with compassion

Advocate for yourself and others

Prioritize the safety of the most vulnerable in our communities

Stay aligned with your humanity

Remain intact with dignity

Elevate collective wellbeing as our greatest form of wealth and strength

These things show up in where we choose to place our attention and, from there, our subsequent actions. This shows up in every choice we make — where we spend our money, how we spend our time, when we speak up, how we see and acknowledge one another, and in the care and intentionality we put into building the world we believe in, from one choice to the next.

The work always remains the same no matter what conditions we face.

The question is what do you need in order to live this way, now? What are the things you already know support you? Can you give yourself space to explore how you might need to adjust aspects of your life so that you can meet the conditions, whatever they might be, over the next months and years?

For me, it starts with prioritizing my wellbeing (physical, mental, emotional health) so that I have greater resilience, strength, and stamina to meet the conditions of life from a place of wholeness and groundedness rather than from one of instability and reactivity. There are the frequent things I need, like quality sleep, nutritious food, medicine, supplements, regular movement, lifting weights, time connecting with friends...

You have these things, too - remember what they are and choose them.

There are also things I prioritize that are less frequent or routine but are equally have a tangible and direct impact on my sense of wellbeing. These things, I find, often get overlooked or deprioritized. This happens because life is busy and full and I feel like I can’t fit it all in. But it also happens because I dismiss their equally important and discernible impact on my sense of holistic wellbeing.

You likely have these things also - do you know what they are? Can you make space for them?

I was reminded of one of my most crucial things this past weekend when I attend a silent retreat with my teacher. Meditation practice, especially in community and with the guidance from my teacher, without a doubt, always has a profound impact on me. It is the space for experiences to process out of my system, for me to get closer to what’s true, for insights and understandings to come through, and for me to receive a different kind of nourishment throughout the my entire human ecosystem.

I need space like this to stay more closely connected to self, to others, to truth, and to the possibility that I can move through life with a broken open heart. It is, perhaps, the only way humanity will move forward.

With Love,

Spring Retreat:
Nourishing the Whole Self

REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

What does “wellness” mean and, more importantly, what do you need to cultivate well-being in your life? As human beings we are multifaceted and complex but that doesn’t mean our path toward wellness has to be complicated. It means that it needs to be unique to you.

Join me for this year’s Spring Retreat: Nourishing the Whole Self at River Mountain, where you will have the space to explore aspects of yourself and your sense of well-being. Through all that is offered, you will be able to discover and nurture parts of yourself that need it most–whether that’s through connection and community, quiet and introspection, movement or stillness, activity or rest.

I invite you to show up for yourself–practice yoga and meditation, eat nourishing and delicious food, connect with yourself and others, soak in outdoor hot springs-filled tubs and do a cold plunge in the pond, and wander through or rest in nature. Leave not just restored and rejuvenated but with the knowledge and know-how to bring wellness into your daily life.

Option to arrive early on 3/19! Early arrival includes accommodations, meals, and access to all amenities on-site. The retreat will officially begin on March 20th at 5pm.

If you are in need of scholarship support, please email me directly (ellie@ellieburke.life) so we can discuss options.
