I cannot believe it's already nearing the end of February! And over a month since I've been in touch! Whoa.
This month I launched You 2.0 - an 8-week virtual coaching program aimed at helping people create their next and best lives. Already into week 3 and it's blowing my mind hearing some of the things that are already shifting and changing for the amazing people in the program. I can't imagine where they will be by week 8!
I also had the honor of being asked to lead a 2-hour workshop on meaningful self-care and it's connection to the nervous system to a wonderful group of women who have or care for someone with hemophilia (or, for some, both). Participants explored what "self-care" really means (and not what the buzz has us thinking it is!), learned the basics of how our nervous system is build to respond to stressors and how we can increase the effects of relaxation and rest through simple strategies, and experienced simple practices that they can include in their daily lives (yoga, pranayama and yoga nidra) to help support them. I easily forget how much I LOVE working with groups in this way. If you or anyone you know is ever looking to explore a topic like this (or anything related to yoga, meditation or life coaching) with a group, please let me know!
Lastly, since I will be teaching an Intro to Meditation workshop this weekend right here in Richmond, I'll leave you with a couple of awesome little videos that I think are great descriptions of meditation and mindfulness. I hope you enjoy them!
, always.
Ellie

Weekly Yoga Classes

My practice and, thus, my teaching has evolved over the years.
Yoga is now, more than ever, an avenue towards connection with myself, a dialogue between my body, my breath, my awareness. It’s a place where I assess the status of my overall wellbeing. And, from there, make choices in my life that support me SO THAT I can show up more fully to whatever I’m choosing.
As a teacher, I want you to learn to listen to yourself more (and to me less), to begin to see your relationship both to yourself and to your world.
There is no perfect prescription or regimen that applies to everyone. Not everyone needs the same specific sequence of asana or pranayama or time in meditation. But all of us need tools and pathways to bring us into our own unique sense of greater wellbeing.
Join me for my weekly yoga classes*:
Tues, 8:30-9:15am @ The Broad (slow flow, pranayama, meditation)
Thurs, 9:30-10:30am @ Lucid Living RVA (mindful flow)
Drop-in fee: $20
