Mind-body mayhem.

Attention splintering off in a million directions.

Mind racing
Heart pounding

Anyone else feeling that these days?!

First: let’s start by not forgetting that we are in as much of a transition now as we were at the beginning of the pandemic
—> though perhaps more subtle and definitely a lot less of the “in it together” cohesiveness than than at the beginning, this shift is real and huge and feels a lot more uncertain

Second: use the tools you have to ground you here and now
—> feel into the body itself supporting you and rest into that support. Feel the distinct physiological shift inside the body when you accept that support.

Third: grow compassion for yourself & others 

—> if you have phrases like “I should be better, know more, manage myself differently...” you can be certain that you are not operating from compassion. Compassion sounds more like, “these are difficult conditions and I’m doing the best that I can to meet them.” True for yourself & others.

Fourth: be here now

—> pick one thing on which to put your attention; one next action, one next step, one next moment. And just work with meeting it and only it. Repeat.

And hang in there. Life is continuing to shift and change. Try not to try... let go of the attempt to keep solid ground beneath your feet. Trust that you will meet whatever comes next - you will, and we’ll see how.
