Ever feel the fog settle in around your heart?

Or do you only notice it when your deep in the thick of it?

For me, heart fog begins to accumulate when I forget myself - when I forget that I’m the one responsible for creating the time and space I need to hear myself, to remember what it is I need to feel full and whole.

I feel it settling in and thickening when I can’t see my way forward; when I’m fumbling as a human being. 

When I can’t hear my heart, I make unsupportive choices. And then the self-judgment follows with self-hate swiftly behind it. More heavy, thick fog collecting and ready to stay put.

It’s a lonely, insecure, cold place. 

But, just like a dense fog that lifts and dissipates as the sun rises and warms, the heart fog dissolves when we give ourselves what we truly need.

What do you need right now to bring light (and it’s warmth) into the fog around your heart? Can you remember? 

It doesn’t have to be exact or perfect but an action of any kind - a connection, a joy, a breath-taking moment - is necessary.

Just extend an invitation to the light and let it lift.
