Merry 2026, everyone! I hope, despite <gestures to everything>, this email finds you personally cozy. Our local Goldfinch crew just re-found our window feeder after it was done awhile due to Mammal Incidents, so I’m really enjoying watching these little guys this morning.

I’ve just opened up my divination calendar for the second half of January, through the end of February. As we move out of “year ahead season,” I am shifting to hour-long, open-ended sessions. You can bring a particular question or project, or you can come with nothing specific in mind but a desire to meet with the cards.

As I move into February, things will start getting much less frantic in my neck of the woods, and I am eager to slow down and write and share a little more. When I’ve caught some moments, though, I’ve been adoring Ursula K. LeGuin’s Lavinia (my first UKLG, because I’m embarrassing) and digging into The Rebis’ fantastic issue on The Devil card. I’d love to hear if you’ve read either!

I have a new post on my blog to share with you today as I kick off my year-ahead divination season. This can be a beautiful grounding practice, but sometimes, we get stuck with a frustrating burden: a difficult omen that we’ve got to sit around for six, eight, twelve more months to see come to fruition. In Frightening Future Omens, I’m reflecting on how we can respond and why we might even want to put ourselves in this situation in the first place. I’d love to hear your own reflections! Hello, everyone! I hope the closing of Libra season is finding you well.

It’s been a busy, busy fall over here, with lots of fabulous design clients. I feel I owe everyone a more thoughtful missive asap, but in the meantime I wanted to let you know that my calendar is now open for November divination bookings! Starting from a place of death instead of a place of transformation does not need to fundamentally change the interpretive outcome of the card, but the acknowledgement of death can provide more divinatory clarity to what comes after it. What is dying? Why? What did it feed on to live? What is going to eat it now?
