I will write occasional thoughts here, mostly on AI and specifically AI safety/security, but the topic list is only limited by imagination and aversion to writing about things I don’t care about or abhor.

The newsletter will be anonymous, i.e. I don’t identify who I am but since you are reading this after I “push” this to you, all or almost all of you know who I am. Please don’t out me. 🙂

Oh, some of you know I was going to use substack for this. I did recover my substack login and tried to create a new newsletter. This was an excruciating exercise in “2026 Substack is a social media wannabe” and not a newsletter a la 2019 Substack, when I last wrote.

You can go to eho.substack.com and read about how I almost died in 2019 via a ladder accident. But, it was written mostly for my family and friends who were worried about me so if you are interested in AI safety, it’s probably not that interesting. 🙃

Bottom line, buttondown is more like 2019 Substack newsletter-wise than 2026 Substack. So here we are.

EDIT: I was able to get eho.substack.com in 2019, in 2026 I was able to get ‘eho’ on buttondown, I love it when that happens.
