Tip 114: Apply Quickly

"Newly posted" assumes that it is a sincere job post, like something that just appeared on their company career page. This is not for the recycled job posts you see reposted every 2-3 weeks on any of the popular job boards.

The organization gets flooded quickly with job applications (especially for remote work). What some companies do is set a rough number of applicants they are looking for before they stop looking at new applications. This is the only way they can survive the mounds of applications being sent their way.

This number they are looking for may have increased because of new AI tools (🤮) that are used to filter applicants (don't get me started on that...), but the company must stop reviewing at some point to move on in the hiring process.

"Apply to newly posted jobs as soon as possible. Companies often create a short list of applicants based on who applied within the first few days (or hours). Weigh the pros and cons of reworking your resume. While it could lead to a better outcome, no one will review your new resume if you apply too late."
