Speaker Bio
Damien is an Assistant Professor in Human-Computer Interaction at the Université de Montréal, where he co-leads the Montréal HCI group. He is also an associate academic member of Mila and an IVADO professor. Previously, he completed a postdoc at the University of Toronto and received his PhD from the University of Waterloo.
Most of his work focuses on building systems that prioritize thoughtful interaction design to effectively solve tasks. Often, this involves going beyond traditional UI and interaction seen in software today. His current research interests include (but are not limited to): designing intelligent systems, visualizing information, and augmenting digital documents.
