Reminder: DWeb Meetup is tomorrow—7/29 First-person views from around the globe 🌏 📱 📻 💻
One year after DWeb Camp, our world is in flux.
We’ve never needed community and connection more.
Join us tomorrow:
Wednesday, July 29 at 9:15 AM Pacific (4:15 PM UTC) for the
July DWeb Meetup: 2020 Community Views Around the Globe
First we will meet up in Gather.town for a stretching class on the beach at 9:15 AM Pacific (4:15 PM UTC).
Next, head to the main hall, where Custom Camps will lead us in ice breaking games at 9:30-9:50 AM PT. (4:30-4:50 PM UTC).
Then John Conor Ryan and Mai Sutton will unveil the first set of DWeb Principles for your input and feedback.
And for the main event: we’re excited to hear from our 2019 Global Fellows, sharing their on-the-ground experiences from India, Brazil, and South Africa. In their communities where many are offline, how do you educate students, share good health information and protect yourself during COVID?
What technologies and community practices are emerging to fill these needs?
DWeb Community: this is a chance to listen. To learn from those personally building community networks and offline solutions. For developers: a rare look into the tech needs of large swaths of the globe and some of the homegrown solutions that are emerging amidst the crisis.
We've been drafting some first principles....
Every community, every organization, every movement needs a North Star: the values and guidelines that govern our growth and how we relate with each other. We invite you to consider this first draft, crafted with the input of a small group of thought leaders. Now we want to give you a sneak peek before our Meetup, where we will begin gathering your feedback.
