Needed: Decentralized Leadership at DWeb Camp!
Help us Decentralize the Leadership of DWeb Camp!
Dear Fellow Campers, We are just three weeks away from the first ever DWeb Camp — July 18-21 at The Mushroom Farm on the coast near Pescadero, CA.
Our goal is to create a camp with you that is truly valuable. As a first time event, this is also an experiment, an alpha version. So we are looking for campers who would like to help us create and test new ways to build community and programming at this retreat.
Would you like to fill one of these leadership roles:
SPACE STEWARDS: “Spaces” at DWeb Camp will include rooms, tents, domes and halls around the farm. Space Stewards will help guide and support activities in specific spaces. Your role is to help program what happens in your space and to keep that space open, equitable, and running smoothly. Each space will ideally be supported by a team of 3-4 people so that no one loses opportunity to explore other parts of the camp. Here is a full description of the role.
WEAVERS: Weavers are active facilitators for home groups, which are small sharing circles campers can choose to join. These circles are a chance to check in and get to know a smaller group of people at the end of each day. Groups are voluntary and meet for 30-60 minutes before dinner. Here is a description of your role as a Weaver. HOW TO VOLUNTEER: Weavers: Contact Mikey Williams and Kelsey Breseman at weavers@archive.org Stewards: Contact Mai Sutton and Wendy Hanamura at stewards@archive.org
We will offer training and support, plus an orientation call the week of July 7th.
Thank you,
Wendy Hanamura DWeb Camp Team
