My Favorite Moments & Images from DWeb Camp
The Joy of Missing Out at DWeb Camp
Dear DWeb Campers, One of the joys of DWeb Camp was all those moments we missed—most likely because we were experiencing something else that was unique and meaningful. In the couple of weeks since we last gathered around campfires and dinner conversations, I've had a chance to look at the thousands of images captured by you and our camp photographers. It brought home for me the Joy of Missing Out!
But now we get to share some of those moments through word and image. We have uploaded lightining talks, photos, and other media in one collection on the Internet Archive: https://archive.org/details/dwebcamp2019. I want to invite you to upload your photos, decks and zines here. We will preserve and maintain these files for the future so historians may one day examine what went on at the very first DWeb Camp in 2019.
I also invite you to use these materials--you can download anything at very high resolution. We've done our best to edit out all the folks wearing red lanyards. Our hope is that DWeb Camp media can help you tell the stories that fuel a movement.
We also love the moments that you've been posting to our new Medium channel. Take a look at some of the reflections posted during and after DWeb Camp. Our photographer Brad Shirakawa has also created a longer version of ihis favorite mages that you can watch by clicking below.
Thank you everyone for the many gifts you are sharing with this community and the world.
best, Wendy Hanamura DWeb Camp Producer
What's Next?
In the next 2 weeks, we'll be scheduling Retrospective Calls for various groups: campers, volunteers, Global Fellows. We hope you'll join and share your thoughts in person.
And we want to know what you think about the future of DWeb Camp--what we should keep, change and throw away. So we'll be sending you a survey in the next week. Thanks for helping to build something experimental and new.
