DWeb + Open Future Meetup: Berlin

Live in Berlin? Or maybe you’re still in town following Chaos Communication Camp? If so, come out this Tuesday 29 August for this in-person meetup!
DWeb and Open Future are co-organizing this casual gathering of folks interested in building a decentralized, free, and open web. We’ll have a couple short talks, followed by breakout discussions based on people’s interests. Each group will have a notetaker and facilitator.
One moderated discussion will reflect on DWeb Camp and Chaos Communication Camp, and how these communities can learn from each others' events. Another breakout will focus on how the Open movement in the EU could prioritize values-based technological development, public infrastructure, and the digital commons.
Come by to meet and discuss ideas and projects with other builders of the decentralized, free, and open web!

Going to Burning Man instead? Meet fellow burners interested in building out the Decentralized Web and find out what they're up to! This event will be hosted at the Fishbowl at Camp Decentral within Contact Collective Village and Anasana Village.
We will gather to network at the burn around making a better web through decentralization, open source, resilience, and the DWeb principles.

DWeb Camp 2023 brought together 500+ technologists, activists, artists, educators and families. What ideas, projects, friendships, and partnerships grew out of our week in the redwoods?
Come to share your reflections about camp and how the seeds planted there are developing. We want to hear about: - new projects taking off - new alliances formed - plans for future convenings - reflections on how DWeb Camp has changed your thinking, actions, trajectory
We'll gather virtually (since DWebbers span the world) and then hang out in Gather.com for more informal socializing.

DWeb + Coolab Camp Brazil
September 7-10
And lastly, two more weeks until DWeb+Coolab Camp in Brazil!
Technology, community, and sharing are coming together September 7-10 at DWeb Camp Brazil! This is the first DWeb Camp happening outside of California. It is hosted by Neos, a space dedicated to activities around biodiversity, permaculture, and self-knowledge. The camp will be next to a natural preserve at the Ubatuba municipality, in the lush beaches of the Brazilian coast, between the major cities of Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
DWeb+Coolab Camp was born out of the collaboration between DWeb and Coolab, both organizations dedicated to creating a more open, accessible, uncensored Internet controlled by the own users. DWeb Camp Brazil seeks to facilitate changes that go beyond technology, welcoming not only hackers, developers, and makers, but also philosophers, policymakers, activists—people trying to tinker with society in different ways.
Come celebrate and discuss the future of the decentralized web with like-minded builders at an event that brings together the camp experiences from Coolab and DWeb. Questions?
