March 25: DWeb Meetup—The Latest in the Decentralized Web 💫
A New Foundation for the Decentralized Web & Insights from 8 Projects
We're excited to welcome Marta Belcher, Chair of the Board of the Filecoin Foundation & Filecoin Foundation for the Decentralized Web. Marta will share how these two new foundations plan to use their considerable resources to build a bigger, better decentralized web while preserving humanity's most important knowledge. (Not to mention, what this might mean for you.)
Plus, we'll hear lightning talks from the founders & evangelists of Stacks, Jolocom, Skynet Labs/Sia, Keyko.io, Planetary.social, DisCO and Distributed.press. What are the breakthroughs and lessons they've learned from the last year?
Finally, we'll test the project Compost Magazine against our DWeb Principles. John Ryan & Mauve Signweaver will host our first "roast and toast"--applauding a project for its alignment with DWeb principles and prodding it toward areas of improvement. With gentle humor and abundant goodwill, we'll put this project to the test against the values we all aspire to.
Our speakers are Zooming in from Uruguay, NYC, Berlin, Lisbon, Toronto, Indiana, Los Angeles & San Francisco. Where else can you get this kind of birds-eye view of Web 3.0 and its ecosystem?
Our Presenters:
Evan Henshaw-Plath, Founder, Planetary.social
Planetary is the decentralized social media app built on the Secure Scuttlebutt Protocol launched in January 2021. Learn from founder Evan Henshaw-Plath what it takes to launch a design-focused Dweb social media app. Twitter: @rabble Homebase: Uruguay

Dimitri de Jonghe, Co-Founder, Keyko.io
With our project "Arts Progression Now," we committed to onboard, build and deploy Web3 solutions that empower artists. This means that we leverage the power of decentralization, blockchain and tokens to explore new value paradigms for artists. First up: a virtual exhibition we call “Rare Effect.” It’s a global and open platform where artists can display their artwork, sell it in a marketplace, run interactive events and performances, while generating new ideas.
