Let’s Build DWeb Camp Together
Become a DWeb Camp Volunteer
We believe that decentralized systems are only as strong as the collaborative efforts of those who build and maintain them.
That's why when we budgeted for DWeb Camp, we made sure that 75 people can come help us build the camp from the ground up, and in exchange we'll cover the cost of some or all of your registration. We are calling these volunteers "Links," as in the links that make up the World Wide Web. (Or if you're a Zelda fan, the superhero Link, who is always willing to lend a hand.)
Can you spend 3-7 days with us at a gorgeous, historic farm overlooking the Pacific Ocean? While you camp out and bond with a great team of organizers, we'll provide you with three delicious organic meals each day and a staff party after everyone has gone.
So how does this work?
You’ll need to register first, then we’ll reimburse you shortly after the event, once you’ve fulfilled your volunteer duties. (If covering the initial registration is a stretch for you, please consider filling out our scholarship application form.) Next be sure to apply to be a volunteer. If you volunteer three 4-hour shifts (12 hours) you can qualify for a 50% ticket reimbursement. Volunteer six 4-hour shifts (24 hours) and we’ll reimburse 100% of your ticket.
We’ll assign you to projects and tasks that best fit your interests and skills. Here are some examples of things you can do:
- Paint beautiful signs
- Tend the campfire(s)
- Organize indoor hacking / wellness spaces
- Build structures / creative projects outdoors
- Give a warm welcome to people as they arrive
- Help build and maintain the mesh network and apps that run on top
But hurry, the deadline for volunteer & scholarship applications is Friday, May 31st. Please apply as soon as possible to secure your spot as a DWeb Link. And remember, we need you to register for camp in tandem with applying to be a volunteer.
