Join us in 1 hour - last chance to ask questions and meet fellow DWeb Campers before Aug 24!
Join us in 1 hour at our last Meetup before we gather at Camp Navarro!
We'll be live on Zoom in one hour today at 8:00am PT. Come find out who's going to be at DWeb Camp. We'll have presentations from a variety of projects, workshops, and talks that will be at Camp. Come learn about DWeb projects or ask any last minute questions you have about DWeb Camp.
CAN'T MAKE IT TO TODAY'S MEETUP?
Read "DWeb Camp 2022: A Grounded Convening of Those Building a Decentralized, Values-Driven Web" where Mai Ishikawa Sutton, DWeb Camp's Director of Fellowships, talks about what this Grounded Camp focused on Ethical Values will hold. From the Hackers Hall to the Thunder Salon, find out what spaces and offerings you will be engaging with at Camp.
SUBMIT YOUR PROJECTS, IDEAS AND TALKS
BY AUGUST 19
DWeb Camp is an opportunity to connect, learn, share and have fun as we work towards building a better, decentralized web. A web that actualizes the principles of trust, human agency, mutual respect, and ecological awareness. Bring what you have to share - whether that's leading a workshop or yoga class, reading a story, performing an informal concert or giving a talk. Let us know what you'll like to share:
- Give a Lightning Talk: Fill out this form
- Propose a workshop, activity, or conversation: Fill out this form
- Share your ideas via our Gitlab: Fill out this New Issue template in our Gitlab Issues page, and see everyone else’s ideas too.
Some organizers are working on big collaborative ideas. Here are a few you can sign up for:
- Science Fair by the Necto Labs & Mysterium Network: Present your tool, project, or campaign by signing up here for a camp-wide expo
- Dogfooding Decentralization by dSocial Commons: Need feedback on your tech? Sign up here to participate in a camp-wide user testing session
- P-2-P Space by Eric Bear & Anna Lekanova: Got a interactive social or digital technology that fosters person-to-person relational networks to do a session with? Tell us about it here!
Tents, Rideshare and Sleepover at the Archive
We're a few weeks away from DWeb Camp and so excited to welcome you to Camp Navarro in the beautiful redwoods near the Mendocino coast of California.
- We're working on getting more tents available for anyone who needs them. Select the "New 1-person Tent, Mattress, Pillow" option. If you haven't gotten your tickets yet, now is the time. Get them at dwebcamp.org and prepare to meet community leaders also attending DWeb Camp. Check out who's coming here.
- Are you looking to carpool with other campers? You can sign up to offer a ride, or request one. If you bring three people in your car, parking is free.
- If you want to sleep over the night before or after the camp, we’re opening the doors to the Internet Archive. Please sign up here if you're interested.
Gates open for registration on Wednesday, August 24th at 2:00pm, and close for the day at 10:00pm. If you cannot make it before 10:00pm, please come up on Thursday, August 25th when gates open again at 9:00am.
The Orientation & Opening Circle is Wednesday, August 24th at 7:30pm. The Opening Circle is the best way to get centered for camp. We hope you can prioritize being at camp for this beautiful ritual. Camp is over on Sunday, August 28th at 11:30am, and all campers need to be off-site by this time. The only exception to this is if you would like to actively help with breakdown and join a breakdown crew. Signups will be available at the event.

DWEB CAMP COVID PROTOCOL
We’ve come a long way since the Covid-19 pandemic began. However, it isn’t over yet. New variants are creating a shifting landscape but we are hopeful that by the end of August, the current spike will be waning. Together, we would like to create a safe culture for everyone to enjoy this year’s DWeb Camp. Read about what we're doing here.
Thank you to our sponsors for making DWeb Camp 2022 possible!
