Help send someone to Camp
We are part of this Gitcoin round! Donating through Gitcoin will help more people come to Camp. Gitcoin uses a system called quadratic funding, which rewards the number of community members who give as well as the amount. That means many small donations can have a much bigger impact. When you donate even $1 worth of crypto, it can result in $3-400+ from the matching pool to help get someone to DWeb Camp.
Funds collected in this round will go directly to reducing campers’ fees, making it possible for a diverse range of participants to join in. We also seek funding to support our Fellowship Program, underwriting the travel, visas, and camperships for leaders from underserved communities around the world to attend, contribute, and create a rich strand of workshops for all participants.
Be a part of the
DWeb Camp 2024 Team
We received a lot of responses to our call last week—thank you so much to those who reached out. We’ll be in touch in the coming days but wanted to share again for anyone who might have missed it. We’d love to hear from you if you might be a good fit for one of these roles.
Join the leadership team that organizes DWeb Camp. We seek talented, diverse, fun, committed individuals who would like to add their spark to this growing community. Leaders receive free campership, housing, and in some cases, travel support. You will be part of the Camp Build, many people’s favorite part of DWeb Camp. We’re looking for: - Camp Intern: come live in SF at the internet Archive and help us with the logistics of DWeb camp this summer! This is a 5-8 week paid internship with housing. Depending on the candidate, we can also structure this to be a joint internship with the Internet Archive, which would include coding assignments and developer mentorship. - Stage manager: Help us manage the human and digital elements of the opening & closing ceremonies at DWeb Camp. Experience with live stage productions is a must. - Camp Documentation: So much goes on at DWeb Camp that no one person can see it all. Thus, we rely on roving reporters & archivists to document what they see & hear. Join the DWeb Camp Documentation team if you are great at writing, photography, videography or audio. Here’s a sample). - Code of Conduct Team: Join a small team of leaders who ensure that DWeb Camp is a space built on clear communication, collaboration, inclusion and above all, respect. Our Code of Conduct team is on hand to respond before, during and even after Camp to ensure the participants are safe, heard, and respected.

Apply to volunteer at Camp
There are lots of ways to stay connected and involved at DWeb Camp. We are looking for leaders with many skills. DWeb Camp is built and run by volunteer power. Are you a team player, a DIY builder who loves the outdoors? Can you paint a sign, lay cables or help erect a tent? Are you a thrifty maker, known for turning discarded items into gold? Then we are looking for you!
Apply by May 24, 2024 to be a Space Steward, Weaver or Volunteer
Volunteers work before, during or after the camp as part of a fun and dedicated team of superheroes.
Half time volunteers cover five 3-hour shifts during Camp and qualify for a 50% ticket reimbursement. (Total commitment: 15 hours)
Full time volunteers come to both the BUILD (August 5-7) and TAKE DOWN (August 11-12) to help set up and strike the camp. Then during Camp, volunteer five additional 3-hour shifts and qualify for a 100% ticket reimbursement. (Total commitment: time at build and takedown + 15 hours)
Or just volunteer for the fun and camaraderie.
Space Stewards help guide and support activities in specific venues around the camp. They curate the session proposals before the event, and assist in facilitating the space’s activities. If selected, space stewards receive 100% free campership and just have to cover lodging and transportation!
Weavers facilitate small group discussions in their sharing circle of 5-8 people at the end of each day. This helps Campers connect more deeply with others and reflect on the day’s activities and discussions.
Be sure to buy a ticket now to secure a spot and if selected we will refund your ticket fees. If you do not secure a spot and choose not to come, we're happy to refund your ticket in full. The deadline for refunds is July 6, 11:59pm PT.

Learn how to become a
DWeb Camp Sponsor
With inflation and a larger staff, the true cost of camp has gone up but we’ve kept the pricing same as last year. This means that we really need sponsors who can make this happen and support participation in Camp for a lot for builders and dreamers who might not be able to make it otherwise. Past sponsors include Filecoin Foundation, Filecoin Foundation for the Decentralized Web, Ford Foundation, Holochain, OpenAI, Planet, RSS3, Ethereum Foundation, Storj, Mask, Next.ID, Hypha Worker Cooperation, Metagov, Gitcoin, and Internet Archive.
Individual donations and sponsorships are welcome too. Check to see if your company has a matching program. To learn more about sponsorships, check out the the Sponsorship Opportunity package for 2024.
