DWeb May Virtual Meetup: Camp Demo Preview
DWeb Camp is an event that attracts projects on the cutting edge of decentralized tech. From all across the network stack, developers, organizers, and designers come to Camp to share their ideas, developments, and research on ways to build a more secure, distributed, and resilient web. A web that gives people autonomy over their digital lives.
This year will be no different – and we invite you to share what you’re working on. Whether it’s a big new feature release, or a hobby project that you’re building on your own, Camp is the place to get incisive feedback, as well as supporters and collaborators alike.
Join us at the May 2024 DWeb Virtual Meetup on to hear from speakers who will be bringing their DWeb projects to showcase at Camp this summer.

DWeb Fellows: Where Are They Now?
Since the program kicked off in 2019, the DWeb Fellowship has welcomed 62 fellows from more than 20 countries across five continents, spanning North America, South America, Asia, Europe, Africa, and Oceania.
Recently, our Fellowships Director, ngọc triệu, had the opportunity to reconnect with some of the DWeb Fellows from previous cohorts. She catches up on how they’ve been since they’re last encounter, delved into current projects, and reminisced about shared experiences at DWeb Camp.
Hanoi DWeb Meetup in May
DWeb community members will be hosting a meetup in Hanoi on Wednesday, May 22nd. Some team members from DWeb Camp 2024 will be there, along with TB Dinesh from the Bangalore DWeb Node. They will be sharing about what DWeb is, explaining how it differs from Web3, showcasing some community projects and highlights from DWeb Camp, and offering an open space for conversations and networking. What would it look like if online platforms were designed with democracy in mind? This event presents projects that are doing just that—building values like transparency, collective decision-making, and accessibility for all into their designs. Learn about ambitious, Bay Area-based projects that enable ordinary users to co-govern their online lives.
Hosted by Nathan Schneider, a professor of media studies at the University of Colorado Boulder.

DWeb Camp Sponsor
With inflation and a larger staff, the true cost of camp has gone up but we’ve kept the pricing same as last year. This means that we really need sponsors who can make this happen and support participation in Camp for a lot for builders and dreamers who might not be able to make it otherwise. Past sponsors include Filecoin Foundation, Filecoin Foundation for the Decentralized Web, Ford Foundation, Holochain, OpenAI, Planet, RSS3, Ethereum Foundation, Storj, Mask, Next.ID, Hypha Worker Cooperative, Metagov, Gitcoin, and Internet Archive.
Individual donations and sponsorships are welcome too. Check to see if your company has a matching program. To learn more about sponsorships, check out the the Sponsorship Opportunity package for 2024. Thanks for reading!Questions?
