Exciting DWeb community weaving events coming soon!
DWeb Virtual Meetup: Weaving Communities for the Digital Commons
November 2 at 10AM-12PM PT
For the DWeb to be truly decentralized, the movement must itself be decentralized.
At this month's virtual meetup, we will be highlighting efforts to expand and deepen cooperation across people and projects that are working together to build a more distributed, secure, and resilient web.
Following the main portion of the event, we will move over to Gather.town for an informal virtual hang out to meet each other and re-connect with peers.
For folks who happen to be in the Bay Area we’ll also be hosting an in-person event later the same day at 5-10pm PT at the Internet Archive. Register for the in-person event here.
WHEN: Thursday, November 2 - 10:00-12:00pm PT, 1-3pm ET WHERE: Online - Virtual meetup
RSVP on Eventbrite. Meeting link will be shared after registering.
ZuSocial accepting applications for their hacker house
Istanbul, November 5-19
As part of ZuConnect, the ZuSocial hacker house brings together the experiences from DWeb, the experiments from Web3, and the lessons from physical public spaces, to ask the right questions and challenge the status quo.
Can we arrive at a decentralized, unstoppable, and usable infrastructure for social interactions, and will we be fast enough in front of the expansion of the centralized world?
These are the questions the folks at ZuSocial will try to answer together. They hope to find how to address the real-world need for decentralized social networks and lock the web open.
Guest speakers: Vitalik Buterin, Rabble, Matt Prewitt, Nader Dabit, Kevin Owocki Organized by Matters Lab, Mask, and Social Layer Find out more and apply here! ZuSocial
