LazyVim for Ambitious Developers: Chapter 17 Released
Hey folks,
I just got Chapter 17 of LazyVim for Ambitious Developers uploaded. It’s about the debugging tooling that comes with LazyVim as an Extra. To be honest, I usually use print statement debugging, so writing this chapter required a lot of study for me. Please let me know if I missed anything.
All has been quiet on the LazyVim front. I think Folke’s on vacation, or possibly taking a break after receiving an ignorant comment on GitHub (highlighted on his Twitter/X feed). Please don’t be ignorant to people who do open source work. I know from experience that one crappy comment can destroy all passion for a project. I don’t want anyone else to go through that.
My wife has started proofreading the book and we continue to find typos. I am now at the point where my changes introduce more typos than they solve, though, so we’re on track for publication! I have applied for an ISBN account with Library and Archives Canada. As with all government entities, I’m a little nervous about their response times, but I’m not expecting it to block final publication later this month.
Not sure if technical details like this are interesting to anyone, but I’ve settled on Ingram Spark to do the print-on-demand and ebook distribution. Through Ingram, the physical book will be available at most book stores. I imagine you’d have to ask your local bookseller to special order it. Though I once found one of my books on a physical shelf (at Adas Books in Seattle) and I was so excited I almost spilled my hazelnut Italian soda all over it!
Cheers,
Dusty Phillips
