This Week in Browsing – 001 Dec 12, 2014 06:33 pm | Brian Dusablon

I used to do this over at my old blog, and I’m bringing it back. I spend a lot of time browsing the internet, obviously. I typically come across some pretty cool resources and articles. I’ll be sharing the best of those in this space once a week. Also, be sure to sign up for the new monthly newsletter (http://duceenterprises.us2.list-manage1.com/subscribe?u=865b6215a5656c7ca0edf108c&id=c522293291) which will be the best of those resources and some fun new features as well.

** What is a card?

A card is a single unit of content or functionality, presented in a concise visual package. More advanced cards use that form to surface content or functionality from other apps, and allow users to interact with that content or functionality directly in the context of where a user encounters the card.

** Delight Isn’t for Everyone

Delight isn’t marketing. It’s not frosting or sprinkles. It’s part of a business strategy rooted in a commitment to putting the needs of customers first.

** Why We Work on Highrise

We work on Highrise to create more meaningful interactions with those around us: with our customers, with our employees, even with our friends.

While I don’t actively use it, I’m glad to see it didn’t die, and this is a very good point about client relationships.

** Workflow for iPhone

IFTTT for iPhone lets you wire up one action to a service, but Workflow lets you wire up multiple in a flow and create custom share actions or even buttons on your home screen for easy access.

I haven’t used this yet, but I’ll post a review next week. I love tools like IFTTT (http://ifttt.com) and TextExpander (http://smilesoftware.com/TextExpander/index.html) for saving me minutes, which turn into hours pretty quickly.

** Articulate Storyline Training

Speaking of Trina (http://rimmercreative.com) , she’s teamed up with the Nuggethead, Kevin Thorn (http://nuggethead.net) , to deliver Training Mag’s Articulate Storyline for Next Level Design Certificate (http://www.trainingliveandonline.com/2015/articulate_storyline_next_level_design.cfm) . If you want to learn Storyline, this is by far the best option available.
