Summer classes at The Dropped Stitch

Hey, long time no email! It’s definitely summer now, which is the perfect time to knock out a quick tank top or start on that sweater you want to have ready for fall (believe it or not, it will get cold again!).

We’ve just added a packed schedule of new classes and workshops to keep you occupied this summer, including:

Tips for Lefties: Abbey is a passionate left-handed knitter and crocheter, and is brimming with tips and tricks for a frequently neglected segments of the population. This two-hour workshop will cover useful adaptations and techniques for the 10% of you out there - you know who you are!

Crochet a Bucket Hat and Filet Crochet for Beginners: We’ve got two new beginner-friendly crochet classes - Jess is back with a summer edition one of her popular project-based classes, and new instructor Bex is proud to introduce a beginner course centered around the very cool “filet” technique.

Finally, our star knitting teacher Maggie is hosting a full schedule of both returning favorites and brand new classes:

  • Learn to Knit in either July or September!

  • Knitting 102: already know the basics but want to know what to do next? This new three-week course in August will cover intermediate techniques like increases, decreases, fixing mistakes, and dealing with tension and gauge issues.

  • Knit Your First Hat: comfortable knitting flat but not used to working in the round? This class will teach circular knitting by making a ribbed wool hat.

  • Finally, we’ve added September dates for Maggie’s popular sweater and sock classes - these fill up, so register soon!
