Our first Yarn Crawl was a blast! Plus, new classes!!
Thank you all so much for making our first ever Chicago Yarn Crawl a huge success. We saw literally hundreds of new faces from around the Chicago area and beyond. Congrats again to our prize drawing winner Lucy - if you didn’t win, I hope you at least grabbed a button or sticker! And if you missed out on our exclusive shoulder bag crochet pattern from Hot Girl Handcrafts, you can still buy a copy from her Etsy shop, or sign up for her class!
We’ve already started rebuilding our post-crawl stock with a massive Malabrigo shipment (over 400 skeins, just arrived today!), plus Amano, Noro, and more on the way. I’m particularly excited about the brand new “Amigas de Rosalinda” collection from Malabrigo, which looks even better in person than in my amateurish photo!

We’ve also got tons of new classes on the calendar!
The aforementioned Jess will be teaching some beginner-friendly crochet classes in August and September - learn to make a gorgeous multipurpose beach coverup/shawl or a crossbody bag, even if you have never picked up a crochet hook!
If shawls and bags aren’t your jam, Cesca, our newest member of the Dropped Stitch gang, is hosting a class on making some adorable crochet cat toys (catnip included!).
As always, our amazing knitting teacher Maggie has a full lineup for the fall, with Knit Your First Hat starting in just a couple of weeks (using the gorgeous new Malabrigo Rasta we just got in stock), followed by new editions of her super popular First Sock, Knitting 101, and Knitting 102 classes.
Our embroidery maven Esther is back with Embroidery Basics, walking you through your choice of one of our super fun stitching kits.
And finally, Bex is doing another run of their extremely popular and fun Filet Crochet class (1-bit crochet pixel art!) and a brand new knitting class where you’ll make a pair of cozy and very cute handwarmers, just in time for the first chilly day.

And last but not least - Craft Night is back to its regular slot on Monday nights! There are new faces there every single week, so don’t be shy about signing up if you’ve never done it before - we have name tags!
See you around, and happy stitching!
