Hey stitch droppers! Exciting (in a good way, not a newspaper headline way) things are happening here at the shop!

New classes

We’ve just added four!! brand new crochet classes to our spring schedule:

• Shapes & Colors: Intro to Pattern Drafting (Fridays, April 10 to May 1): are you curious about how crochet patterns get made? Interested in designing your own patterns for sale (or just for your friends)? It’s not as hard as you might think! In this four-week class, our amazing crochet instructor and pattern designer Jess will guide you through drafting, grading, testing, and documenting a crochet pattern.

• Crochet Your Own Bikini (Wednesdays, May 6 to May 20): this class was such a blast last year that we’re running it again! This three-week class will teach you to make a bikini that fits you perfectly (just in time for summer). Yes, you can crochet swimwear and actually swim in it - Jess personally tested several of our yarns before settling on one that worked great.

• Crochet a Granny Square Top (Saturdays, May 9 to May 23): make your own clothes! While everyone else at Lolla (or Riot Fest if you’re old like me) is wearing a questionable piece of “crochet” from Temu, you’ll be rocking your own handmade fringed crop top. Our instructor Jess designed the pattern, so she’ll be able to help you modify it however you want.

• Intro to Crochet (Fridays, May 15 to May 29): another installment of our popular introductory class. Learn the building blocks of crochet with expert guidance and hands-on instruction you won’t get from Youtube. (We also still have room in the April version of this class!)

New kits

We’ve had crochet kits almost since we opened, but we’re proud to now be offering a selection of knitting kits from Hardicraft! These are not only extremely cute, they also all have delightfully Dutch names like Freek and Yfke. Veel plezier!

New yarn

We’ve also been busily restocking our shelves, including a big delivery of our workhorse yarns Malabrigo Worsted, Rios, and Rasta, including some brand new colorways, with even more on the way. Now’s a great time to pick up sweater or blanket quantities of yarn from the same dye lot!

New discounts

Our upcoming darning loom workshop with Nandi of Bliss Joy Bull (Saturday, March 14) is now 20% off! Learn how to use a micro-loom to put a little patch over holes (or just for fun). And we’ve also just restocked our adopt-a-yarn bowl… get it while it’s warm!
