A little news (and an excellent episode)

A little programming news, in case you didn't catch it at the end of this week's episode: I'm taking a quick pause from new episodes of Drafting the Past in April and May so that I can focus on finishing my dissertation (a history of the science and culture of storm chasing in the U.S. Great Plains).
Don't worry, the podcast isn't going anywhere! In fact, I already have excellent interviews recorded for June with authors who have new books coming out this summer.
In the meantime, I'm planning to pop in here—maybe even with some peeks into my dissertation, if that interests anyone—and I encourage you to check out back episodes of Drafting the Past. There are so many gems among the 43 episodes of the show, so whether you're catching up on episodes you've missed or revisiting favorites, I recommend digging into the archives if you need a Drafting the Past fix in the meantime.
Speaking of this week's episode, it's a killer: I was thrilled to interview Margaret O'Mara. I'm a big fan of Margaret's work, and I'm now a big fan of her as a person, as well. This episode is full of inspiration, including concrete advice on interviewing historical subjects for narrative details, organizing research and writing notes, and planning outlines and revisions. Listen here, and pass it on to a friend who might be able to use the inspiration.
Hi Kate, I really enjoy the podcast. I'll miss listening to new episodes but getting that dissertation finished will feel great! I would love it if you share peeks into your dissertation in the newsletter.
