I’m delayed in writing this email because I’ve been trying to figure out what to say. Two weeks ago, I published the 100th episode of Drafting the Past! I thought I would go back through the first 100 episodes and collect all the “most influential writing advice” people have shared into one post, but there’s so much good advice that it’s taking me longer than I thought. Something to look forward to!
In the meantime, I just want to say thanks. Thanks for listening, thanks for being guests, thanks for sharing the podcast with friends, colleagues, and students. Thanks for leaving reviews, for supporting the show on Patreon, for buying books through the bookshop.org affiliate links. Thanks for inviting me to talk to your classes and your organizations. Thank you for the notes in my inbox and for saying hi at conferences and telling me how the podcast has helped you.
Most of all, thanks for caring about great history writing. I hoped I wasn’t the only one back when I first posted the idea for the podcast on Twitter at the end of 2021. As it turns out, there are a whole lot of us!
There are many exciting developments and expansions coming to Drafting the Past later this year (check out the end of my recent conversation with Megan Kate Nelson for the sneak peek). But look at everything we’ve done already!
Here’s to the next 100.
