Hello
I’m starting to feel like I am coming down with something, so this one is a bit delayed! It is hard to tell, as usual, how much is physical and how much is psychological. I’m trying a lot of things, and rearranging my medications and whatnot, to try to see what works. So far, nothing has. Probably going to hit the doctor in the next week. Hence this shorter one, as well.
Otherwise, things are going well! I’m doing great work, starting to feel a bit more unblocked creatively, and have some plans for other moneymaking.
I’m still glad I went freelance, though I really wish I had taken a vacation before I did. Oh well.
What I’m writing
Voice - 1500 word short story (1200/1500 written)
I did in fact flip the two things I was working on, this is now the shorter one. I think it’s going pretty well, but I kind of stopped right at the goal line to get some feedback and do edits. This may wind up being a mistake, but I think I will finish it tonight.
Metal Eggs - 7500 word short story (1000/7500)
Not limiting myself on this one, it’ll be as long as it is. We’ll see what happens!
Spec TV script - 28 pages (0 pages done)
Have some concepts for a spec script, in the hope the show I am writing it for will be on an acceptable show list for one of the programs next year. I could be wrong! Which would be frustrating.

Various Infinity Things (Marvel)
Infinity Gauntlet, Infinity War, Infinity Crusde, and Warlock and the Infinity Watch, and Infinity Wars. Jim Starlin, Ron Lim, etc etc. Infinity Crusade was one of the first comics I remember reading, specifically this one:
</a>Therefore, it is firmly cemented in my memory. After this, I had gone back and read some of the original trades for Gauntlet and Wars, but it really helped me get into Marvel Cosmic, and also got a deep and wide understanding of the Marvel Universe, and how it interconnects.
The best, and a unique thing, about superhero comics is the interconnectedness. The retcons and guest appearances, the side stories, the c-list characters living their best life in a corner somewhere because a creator decided to care. These stories embody this, a lot, especially Crusade, which makes a large portion of the Marvel universe, the ones who believe in a higher power, into mind controlled stooges. The morality of Infinity Crusade is complex, a stark contrast to the other two stories, which are more straightforward. Straightforward except for the passionless eyes of the abstracts of the universe.
The more recent Infinity Wars event was enjoyable, and a good continuation, and has one conceit that I realized that I enjoyed from the prior stories: Daredevil-level (and Daredevil himself) street heroes and villains getting swept up in massive cosmic events, and holding their own. Turk Barrett, Stilt-Man, getting the mind stone and being like “Oh shit, I can take over the Kingpin’s territory now” is brilliant, and it definitely shows another strength of the universe: No matter how much your job might be punching gang members, you do still live in a universe with magic around. Sometimes you might get your hands on some.

Sea of Thieves: A Pirate’s Life
Been playing this with friends, and I think it’s got me. The first episode of their Pirates of the Caribbean crossover is an amazing thrill ride through, literally, the theme park ride. Beautiful.
What I’m watching
The Good Fight (S5E1)
The first episode of the new season just started, and boy, I am going to miss Delroy Lindo on this show. This episode catches up with the characters by going through March 2020 to today, and I wasn’t emotionally prepared for this. The pandemic, the election, George Floyd, it captures, very effectively, the time we live in.
I love this show so much, and am looking forward to the new cast members, when they show, but man, I will miss the hell out of Delroy Lindo
