Apologies, everyone.
First, I need to apologise for the potential sombre feel to this newsletter. Secondly, let me say that no one is injured or hurt in anyway. However, it is with an extremely heavy heart that I must announce that The .NET Core Podcast has go on an indefinite hiatus.
I'm sitting on my couch, typing this out on my phone, so I apologise for any spelling, grammar, or formatting issues in advance.
I returned home from work this evening (only a few hours ago) to find that my home office had flooded. I don't know how, or what the source was, yet. But it destroyed all of my hardware.
Luckily, the raw files for all episodes are backed up off site. This includes the next few episodes. They are only partially edited. IF I can source a laptop, I should be able to finalise editing them. But they wont have transcriptions, the show notes will remain unfinished, and I wont be able to speak for the artwork.
This has the potential to affect the Waffling Taylors, too. But not as much, as most of the editing for that show is done by my co-host.
My sincerest apologies go out to those who listen to the show, and to those who were waiting on their episodes going out.
Worst hit will be the patrons and those who bought me a coffee. I'll be looking at potentially refunding the Patrons, and will be temporarily stopping both the Patreon and Buy Me A Coffee pages, as I won't be able to put anything out until I have fixed my home office and sourced brand new hardware.
In the meantime, keep making awesome stuff with Core. I still want to know about all of the amazing things you're all making with it.
Sorry everyone,
Jamie "GaProgMan" Taylor.
