a transition
hi! been a minute, hasn't it?
i'll be honest with you, friends: i thought this newsletter was done. it had been a bright spot in my life for a long time, but that time had passed, as times do. but i was driving last weekend, appropriately from my former home to my current one, and i had an idea. last year, i joined some friends on dreamwidth, a site built on the bones of livejournal, and have enjoyed posting longer-form reviews there. but i miss having a way to highlight things i've enjoyed but don't particularly want to review, so i think i'm going to shift the focus of this newsletter to that. probably it'll be monthly, much like andrew kolb's monthly media round-ups. if you've been reading my opinions for this long and would like to continue to do so--great! if the new format feels like it's not for you, feel free to unsubscribe. i assume the button will be at the end of this email like always.
memorial dog thing
i lost vista at christmas, after a terrible few months of cancer. she had been kissed and stroked and had a belly full of grilled chicken. we had nearly 14 wonderful years together.

See you again in a couple weeks!
