At the Other Keyboard has a new home!
As per my last post, I've moved my newsletter, "At the Other Keyboard," from Substack to Buttondown.
If you're getting this email in your inbox, there's nothing for you to do. All subscribers and archives have been transferred over. If you were previously a paying subscriber through Substack, your payment plan has transferred without any changes (theoretically—if you notice any double charges, please let me know ASAP).
If this email is in your spam folder, please add this email address to your contacts to prevent this happening in the future!
Some major and minor changes
The major
For a number of reasons, I've removed the paywall from this newsletter. From now on, everyone who's subscribed, regardless of subscription type, will be getting my weekly newsletter.
The minor
Previously, the minimum subscription for this newsletter started at $5/month; you can now set a subscription level to be as little as $1/month here.
If you have the budget and inclination, please still consider chipping in a few bucks a month. This newsletter is the primary funding source for my studio recordings—this year I've got pieces by Florence Price, Maria Szymanowska, and Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel coming out, and hope to head back in to record more works soon.
Also, Buttondown doesn't support comments on posts. Apologies to those of you who were frequent and loyal commenters. I still treasure you and your kind words!
Neither major nor minor (whole-tone? chromatic?)
I am maintaining the "Snail Mail Club" level—if you subscribe at $20/month or more, you will get handwritten postcards and letters sent once a month to your real-life mailbox. If you sign up here and pledge over $20, I'll be in touch to get your mailing address.
A small request
Finally, by leaving Substack, I've opted out of the built-in network that recommends my newsletter to readers into art and music; you can help this newsletter grow by forwarding posts to friends/colleagues and encouraging them to subscribe, and/or posting this link on social media!
Thank you all for reading, supporting, and being generally wonderful, generous human beings. 🎹
