Rejections, Renewal, and a Better Headspace
Hello friends,
It’s been a full month since my last newsletter—longer than I planned. I appreciate your understanding as I work to get back on schedule.
Here’s what’s been happening:
- Submissions & Rejections: Twelve poems sent out, seven rejections back. I am confident that once I get my work in front of the right editor at the right time, they will see their worth.
- New Collection Drafted: The manuscript is complete, though the perfect title still eludes me.
Nothing quite fits the mood yet, but I’ll know it when I find it. - Headspace: Mentally, I’ve been in a steadier place lately. I wake with less dread, but more peace.
Writing from peace is different, slower, more deliberate, but I am committed to sharing the good times too, not just the dark ones -
Other Projects:
- Planning the 25th-anniversary edition of Broken Images
- Editing and formatting the new, untitled collection
- Paused the speculative short-story collection. I may return to it in a few months.
Thank you for reading.
Until next time,
-Donnie
