Where did the summer go??

It feels like we just shared our Eh to Zed playlist on the Canada Day weekend, and now the 2018 Labour Day weekend is behind us and Septemeber’s ready to leave its mark.

One member of the DOMINIONATED family has been eagerly awaiting summer’s end, specifically Friday, August 31. That’s the day when contributing writer Rob Dickson released his second album, Looking Through Your Window, through Ottawa-based So Sorry Records.


Congratulations on the album’s release, Rob, and all the best as you embark on a short tour through Ontario this month!

Did You Know?

The start of September means back-to-school for students everywhere, and for two DOMINIONATED family members, that means back to work. Contributing writer Jon Neher is teaching high school music classes this year, his first at the secondary level. “I'm very excited to expose them to things that aren't posters of Johnny Cash flipping the bird,” he says. Co-founder Jim Di Gioia also spends his non-blogging days supporting teachers and students in two high schools and seventeen elementary schools with specialized educational needs. “The secret to success when supporting these students, their teachers and family, is to be a good listener and engage everyone in conversation,” Jim says. “That’s not always easy, but if there’s one thing from my music blogging life I can apply when teaching is the value of making good connections.”
