Annual Annual "Can't Sleep, Clown's Gonna Eat Me" Month
New Year's Resolution 01: Newsletters, those wily beasts. They seem so innocuous, so simple to pen and schedule, and yet, like taking medications, they can go completely off the rails by missing just one scheduled dose. Does that comparison even make sense? It doesn't have to because in this, the inaugural edition of DOMINIONATEDredux, we are resolving to do away with making any empty promises about sticking to a schedule, and just saying that we'll send along subsequent newsletters as regular as we can, with as much relevant content and information as possible. Thanks for already signing up. Please do share with others you feel would appreciate our semi-irregular Canadian music missives.
New Year's Resolution 02: 2018 is the year DOMINIONATED boldly goes where it hasn't gone before: We've launched our very own podcast!
In the first episode, CoFounder Mac Cameron and Contributing Editor Geoff Parent take a deep dive into our
Favourite Fifty Albums of 2017 list, sharing some of the methods behind compiling the list, and providing insight and commentary on our favourite Canadain albums of the year. We're very excited about engaging our readers and followers with some very literal #CanadianMusicConvos.
New Year's Resolution 03: Feature posts are fun to write, and they seem to be a hit with our reading audience as well. Though they take a fair bit of time and research to pull together, we're resolving to bring more out-of-the-ordinary blog posts like
Daniel Romano in 14 Songs,
The Dears, by the Dozen,
Loser Anthems: Re-evaluating the Music of Matthew Good, and
Why I (don’t) Hate Jann Arden (anymore) in the coming months.
New Year's Resolution 04: DOMINIONATED wants to bulk up rather than shed weight in 2018. Contributors
Josh Weinberg,
Soraya Mamiche,
Rob Dickson, and
Thomas Williams joined the conversation this past year, and we happily welcome anyone else interested in writing about the Canadian music that most matters to them. Please consider filling in our zero-commitment contributor's information form if this sounds like you.
New Year's Resolution 05: Okay, this is not
really a resolution, but more of a request: If you love DOMINIONATED as much as we hope you do, please check out our recently launched Web Shop with our partners at
T-Shirt Elephant. We believe our logo looks great on these tees, and know these tees would look awesome on you.
