Week 24, 2024: The Empty Brain

Hello internet friends,

Yes, it is Monday, but it is what it is. I spent the weekend in Berlin without a computer and so here we go today.
The work week was pretty uneventful and over quick and the weekend in Berlin was nice and chill, even with the whole football thing going on. (No, it wasn't the reason why I went.) I did bring my camera with me and finally used it a bit more - I'm not super enthused with the results but bringing it along and taking photos was good fun. And frankly - that's why I do it anyway.

Last week was another Apple presentation thing and ugh it was too much "AI" for my taste. I haven't looked to deeply into it but Ed Zitron's analysis how Apple handled the whole thing, especially the ChatGPT integration, is rather funny.

The thing about metaphors is that while they are useful, they are also hard to leave once they're in your memory. Your what now? What if memory is also just a metaphor for what happens in a human brain? (Extremely fascinating.)

Some dude in America thinks it would be a good idea to put warning labels on social media, basically like we have on cigarettes already. I'm very much in favour - the meme potential alone is through the roof.

Take care, folks. Toodles!
